Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Oversee bookkeeping duties including general journals, banking, end of Month/Quarter/Financial Year
  • Prepare GST, PAYG withholding, superannuation and WorkCover reporting, including reconciliations, calculations, and payments as per compliance requirements
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure financial accuracy
  • Conduct regular audits and internal reviews to ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for audits
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Skills and Expertise

  • Minimum Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in accounts payable/receivable
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Experience with MYOB is preferable
  • Be familiar with financial regulations and legislation
  • Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Good understanding of accounts payable/receivable and payroll procedures
  • Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies and reporting them.
