We have an exciting opportunity for a 3rd or 4th year Civil Engineering student to join our Wollongong team. This fantastic role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader. Our Wollongong office is located in the heart of the CBD, within a modern and secure building just steps from the Crown Street shopping district and a short walk from the scenic South Wollongong Beach. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Civil Engineer in the planning, execution, and finalisation of projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating resources, including, but not limited to team members, third-party contractors, and/or consultants, to deliver projects according to plan
  • Assist with the definition of the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle
  • Assisting in the management of project budgets and invoicing as well as seeking variations if required
  • Liaise with authorities and utility agencies to obtain project approvals
  • Provide administrative assistance to the contract Superintendent/Principals Representative on various projects
  • Preparation of works contracts, quantities and tender documentation
  • Assistance with fortnightly updating of project budgets and project programs
  • Reviewing Principal Contractor EHS Documentation to ensure compliance with Client EHS policies
  • Assistance with the completion of fortnightly meetings and issuing of minutes
  • Assist with site inspections and progress reports of site works
  • Develop practical skills, industry knowledge and confidence that will help launch your career in engineering.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers and project teams to develop innovative and practical solutions to design challenges.
  • Build strong professional relationships while working within a supportive and highly experienced team.

Skills and Expertise

  • Currently undertaking a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, 3rd or 4th year
  • 0 to 1 Years Undergraduate Graduate Experience
  • Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to focus, achieve outcomes and meet deadlines
  • Strong prioritisation and coordination skills
  • Ability to work well both autonomously and within teams
  • Experience using MS Office and MS Project
  • Basic AutoCAD experience
  • White card
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
