We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Sydney team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting involved in the detail while also shaping long-term financial strategies and process improvements. Our Sydney offices are located conveniently near public transport and entertainment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full finance function — from budgeting and forecasting to cash flow and reporting.
  • Deliver sharp, actionable insights that drive smarter business decisions.
  • Lead month-end close and produce accurate, consolidated accounts with confidence.
  • Craft balance sheets, P&Ls, and performance reports that tell the real story behind the numbers.
  • Keep payroll, accounts payable, and receivable running like clockwork.
  • Build powerful financial models to support pricing, tenders, and key commercial deals.
  • Partner with managers across the business to boost financial performance and accountability.
  • Streamline and optimize processes within our Project Management and Accounting systems.
  • Lead invoicing and ensure smooth operation of project accounting tools.
  • Inspire, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team.
  • Bring financial clarity to non-finance stakeholders, translating data into decisions.
  • Continuously improve systems, processes, and reporting tools like Power BI, Total Synergy, MYOB, Xero, and Employment Hero.
  • Drive cost efficiency, revenue growth, and innovation across the business.
  • Oversee preparation of insightful management dashboards and reports.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, audits, and internal controls.
  • Present financial results and insights in a clear, engaging, and action-oriented way.

Skills & Experience

  • CA/CPA accounting accreditation and Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with MS Office, MYOB, Power BI.
  • Proven experience managing the full finance function for a business of 100–300 people.
  • Strong background in management reporting and financial leadership.
  • Ability to balance strategic focus with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Commitment to process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in M&A (desirable).
