Project Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Norwest team. Responsibilities
- Primary role is to assist the Senior Project Manager in the planning, execution, and finalisation of projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes the coordination of resources, including but not limited to Orion team members, third-party contractors, and/or consultants, to deliver projects according to plan
- Assist with the definition of the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle
- Assisting in the management of project budgets and invoicing, as well as seeking variations if required
- Liaise with authorities and utility agencies to obtain project approvals
- Preparation of works contracts
- Regular and friendly interaction with clients
- Assistance with fortnightly updating of project budgets and project programs
- Assist with chairing of fortnightly meetings and issuing minutes
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with client EHS policies
- Preparation of quantities and tender documentation
- Assisting with site inspections and progress reports of site works
- Business development and liaison with clients is expected and encouraged
- Implementation of good practice, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to support the ongoing success of the business
- Adoption, promotion, and adherence to Orion Group’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering
- 1 to 5 Years Post Graduate Experience
- Solid communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to focus and meet deadlines
- Strong prioritisation and coordination skills
- Ability to work well both autonomously and within a team
- Experience using MS Office and MS Project.
