The Gregory Hills Corporate Park project involved the construction of
- Five industrial lots,
- Private link road,
- Slip lane into the new SOMA Wellness centre,
- Landscaping and footpath works for the site.
The development works involved the construction of the final section of Hermitage Way linking Gledswood Hills to Gregory Hills. This section of road was a much anticipated and long-awaited final piece of the puzzle for many residents of both suburbs.
Orion was engaged by Gregory Hills Corporate Park to finalise the bulk earthworks and manage the internal and external civil works.
Tight delivery timeframes were required to complete the works. Camden Council are the certifying authority and negotiation was required to ensure the extension of Hermitage Way was completed and handed over in a timely duration.
Utility approvals were not at an approved stage and were delaying construction works. Additionally, a large stockpile of drainage material was imported for stormwater drainage but not yet approved by Council. Surplus import material was also required to be managed onsite to comply with design finished levels.
Orion provided project management and superintendency services to ensure all quality assurance processes were adhered to, and were to the satisfaction of Camden Council engineers.
The stockpiled drainage material was approved for a portion of the drainage works onsite after negotiation with Camden Council. The remainder was approved for use as a bedding material for the footpath works.
The earthworks model was redesigned to ensure the maximum design tolerance was utilised, while still ensuring adequate crossfall was maintained and complied with future vendor contracts.
Through problem solving and meticulous negotiation with Camden Council, all stages were completed to the Client’s and Council’s satisfaction. Local residents were pleased to have the link between Gledswood Hills and Gregory Hills completed. The result was a win-win-win situation.
