Ryan is a civil engineer with a real passion for the digital engineering space. Born and bred in the Sutherland Shire, he recently married his now-wife Karuna. Together they have 2 French Bulldogs and live in their new home in East Hills.
With over 14 years in the civil industry, Ryan initially trained as a road designer with the RMS, working on projects such as The Pacific Highway, The Northern Road, and Great Western Highway.
Since leaving the RMS, Ryan moved into the digital engineering space. During his 6+ years with Sydney Airport in the Spatial Services and Survey team, Ryan developed knowledge and enthusiasm for reality-modeling and the integration of the real world in a digital environment. Through leveraging modern technologies such as drones and laser scanning, Ryan captures the real-world environment and manipulates captured data delivering a 1:1 digital copy for consumption in the wider engineering and design space.
Now a part of the Orion team, Ryan has been engaging with Celestino and CSIRO in the development and implementation of the STEM Schools Challenge program that is being hosted at Sydney Science Park in Luddenham. With a total of 11 private schools involved in the program, the goal is to give students a forum to engage with industry experts. Through hands on experience and education, the vision is to build a passion within the kids of today to start thinking about sustainability and the development of smarter cities for tomorrow.
Ryan is very excited to have joined the Orion team and looks forward to seeing what he and this company with similar passions can achieve together in the future.
