Cascadia Calderwood

Orion was engaged as Project Manager and Superintendent for the Cascadia development in Calderwood, Shellharbour. Retaining walls represented a significant project cost due to the site’s challenging topography with walls reaching heights of six metres. After reviewing the original sandstone design, Orion recommended an alternative MagnumStone system that reduced construction complexity and material requirements. This practical solution maintained the required engineering and performance standards while delivering construction savings of approximately $6 million for the client.
